The pair of leaning divi-divi trees photographed on half the postcards leaving the island stand right on this beach, and the sand itself is wider and quieter than Palm Beach a few minutes north. The water stays calm and shallow well out from shore, and low-rise resorts sit across the boulevard rather than crowding the sand itself. Leatherback and hawksbill turtles nest here between April and September, sections get roped off for the nests, and it is worth checking before laying out a towel.
