About
Open since 1941 when San Nicolas was still an oil refinery boomtown, the walls and ceiling are covered floor to rafter in decades of license plates, hard hats and memorabilia left by sailors and refinery workers who never quite left. The kitchen serves straightforward grilled shrimp and steak rather than anything fussy, and a live band plays most weekends to a mixed crowd of locals and visitors making the trip south specifically for it. It is as much a museum of the town's history as it is a restaurant.
